Lego Movie Camera with DP, Director, & Makeup - MOC

Liam got set 7065 (Alien Conquest Mothership) as an early Christmas present from his grandma.  It's pretty cool, by the way.  The circle thing that goes around the ship is a narrow form of the train track element.  It's very playable, and quite fun.
While he was building it, I decided to "amplify" the news reporter that came with the set.  I started off building a news camera.  But it got out of hand...

I ended up building a movie camera (it was more fun) to film the "alien movie" that was taking place.  It's very movable due to the ball joints.
I thought a director would be fun to include, and I gave him a "TV screen" on which to watch what the DP was doing.

The DP (Director of Photography) is my favorite part.

The bottom needed something, so I threw in the makeup girl.  Every alien movie needs a makeup girl.

So fun.

Lego Ninjago: Jay's House

Liam and I are planning on making a movie (with Lego).  We haven't figured out all the details yet, but we knew we needed some scenery.  I decided to get started with Jay's house.  Here are some pictures:

I had a lot of fun with the fireplace.
Here's the Outside of the House.  First the front, then the back:

Of course, we needed some good LEGO villains.  I made an Evil Mummy Tower with some evil mummies:
Naturally, they trapped a girl that needs to be saved.
Here's the front of the house again with Master Woo... though he's wearing the wrong hat...
 So fun.

New Lego "blade Cycle" (Ninjago) 9441

Liam saw the new LEGO set 9441 and loved it instantly.  Already a huge fan of Kai, and the color red, Liam was quite excited to put this new LEGO bike together.  The minifig of Kai is pretty cool.  The thing that goes on his back to hold the swords is sweet, and I love the shoulder things too.  Unfortunatly, the bike isn't that amazing.  I was particularly unimpressed with the front wheel.  Even Liam recognized it's lack of stability.  Thankfully with a little clever engineering it wasn't too hard to strengthen.

The snake staff is cool.  It comes with some very interesting pieces I've never seen before.  They're like 1x1 round studs, but they're tiles (no stud on top).  Pretty interesting.

Liam and I watched the new LEGO Ninjago short yesterday on Cartoon Network up at Liam's cousin's house.  Pretty awesome.

For $20, the bike is reasonable but not amazing.  A not so strong front wheel (oh, and TONS of technic pieces) made it a little less fun that I was hoping for.  Thankfully, the Kai minifig is pretty cool.

Enjoy!
